The first thing that must be done is admit there is a problem. A lot of times it may be finances.
Sometimes one of the people involved may catch the other cheating. Whatever the case may be, it must be
identified and dealt with. Otherwise, the marriage is doomed.
Counseling may be involved. It may be necessary to get the advice from a professional in order to keep
certain things from happening again.
The next step is to come up with a list of compromises. Work out what each other is going to do.
Making a list of what needs to be done and coming up with some sort of agreement is a good way to start. If
the two of you cannot come up with an agreement of who does what, then what good does it do you to
compromise? If all you do is argue about every little detail, then what good is it to try to come to some
sort of agreement?
Now that you have come up with a list of agreements, set up a plan to keep the same things from
recurring. There is nothing worse than to come up with a way to keep a marriage from breaking up and have
someone go back to the same ways of doing things or not finding a way to stop what me be breaking up the
relationship. It is as if one of the people involved just doesn’t care about how things are going to go. If
it is finances, decide on which accounts to pay off or close and stick with it. No matter what happens, try
your best not to go further in debt. That is nearly a guaranteed way to destroy the relationship all over
again. Set up personal time if that is what the problem was. Maybe the two of you just need to spend more
time together. Or maybe you just need to take a vacation. Whatever it is, come up with and plan and stick to
it.
A break up can be tough on an individual or both parties involved, but there are ways of preventing
your marriage from breaking up. The first thing you must decide is identify there is a problem. Talk thing
over with your significant other, come up with a list of compromises, and come up with a plan and execute
that plan. However, if any part of that fails, the relationship will fail again. Then all the work that was
put in to try to keep the marriage from failing will be for naught.
